In the Age of AI, Presence Is the Ultimate Leadership Advantage

Most leaders don’t stay stuck because they don’t know what to do.

They stay stuck because something deeper prevents them from acting on what they already know 💙

I was reminded of this again recently.

During one of our Leadership Forum sessions, one of the participants shared a significant change he had wanted to lead for more than a year and a half.

The plan was ready.

The strategy was clear.

The data was there.

He knew exactly what needed to be done.

And yet, he couldn’t move.

The group didn’t rush to offer advice.

Instead, they asked thoughtful questions.

They listened. They reflected.

And most importantly, they stayed with him.

Then, almost without noticing it, the conversation stopped being about the initiative.

It became about the person leading it.

We touched something much deeper.

Not the challenge itself.

But an old wound.

A personal experience that had quietly shaped his decisions for years, without him even realizing it.

I remember that moment vividly.

I could feel something shift in the room.

It was as if we had all stopped searching for answers and simply became present.

In that moment, I was reminded once again that leadership doesn’t begin with having better solutions.

It begins with creating a space that is safe enough for someone to face – and move through – the pain they have spent so long trying to avoid.
And when that happens…

Something begins to soften.

The wisdom that was always there finally has room to emerge.

I have to admit, I was surprised too.

The very next morning, he called me.

After a year and a half of being stuck, he had already moved the initiative forward.

That moment reminded me that transformation rarely begins with more knowledge.

It begins the moment we dare to feel what we have known all along – but have not yet been willing to face.

That is why I created the Leadership Forum.

To create a space where the wisdom that already exists within them can emerge.

Because in the age of AI, knowledge is everywhere.

What will distinguish great leaders is not having better answers, but creating the conditions where human wisdom can emerge.

When was the last time you experienced a conversation that changed you-not because someone gave you the answer, but because they created the space for you to find your own?
